The founder

A horseman who was also a pharmacist

Equiade started in 1984 with Arnold Epstein, a pharmacist from Merrick, New York. He owned and raced horses, and he knew what horsemen needed because he was one. His first product was the Jug, an electrolyte mixture for horses.

Arnold spent two years working out an everyday supplement for horses in training: rice bran oil, which carries gamma-oryzanol, made into a liquid emulsion a horse takes from a syringe. He called it Body Builder, and it came out in 1986.

Every bottle is still made to his formula, and trainers, breeders and owners have relied on it for 40 years.

1984

Equiade begins
Arnold Epstein, a pharmacist from Merrick, New York, who owned and raced horses, starts Equiade. His first product is the Jug, an electrolyte mixture.
1986

Body Builder
Two years of work become Body Builder, a rice bran oil emulsion with gamma-oryzanol, given by syringe. Body Builder Dog and Hesperidin follow the same year.
2005

Dr. Ernest Pecoraro takes over
Ernie buys the company and runs it from Clearwater, Florida. Overdrive Plus and Lube-All-Plus, for horses and for dogs, join the range.
2015

Air Blast
Air Blast for horses and for dogs, formulated by Dr. Pecoraro.
2018

EPMX
EPMX, formulated by Dr. Pecoraro after consulting several experts.
